As a lifelong UNIX user, PDF has been a great “portable display format”. But working amongst a PC (Windows) centric business environment, it was always frustrated to get their Windows formatted documents and scrounging for display tools, like OpenOffice.org, to see the intent behind their document (ie they never displayed correctly).

I’m glad PDF has prevailed, although less happy with the IRS:-)
