Anyone else map the caps lock back to control, like UNIX keyboards used to be? Using vi daily requires it.

Also you can remove all the desktop icons with a special command. Nice decluttering of screen.

My only pet peeve is when closing say preview, it brings forward the next preview window, even though it wasn't visible. A "desktop" doesn't work that way.
